Marian Hodgson has spent her whole life living and working in Yorkshire and has stayed in North Yorkshire for the past 18 years. Most of her working life has revolved around business, establishing a bakery/shop with her late husband.

She was head-hunted by the Government Advisory Service for small businesses and moved on to become Chief Executive for North Yorkshire Enterprise Network of eight district enterprise agencies.

Marian has been a verifier for the University NVQ awarding bodies and is well aware of the need to encourage skills and training for young people. She believes her experience of people in many walks of life would be of value in her role as a District Councillor.

Marian has a good sense of humour, an enthusiastic personality and believes that every one deserves the best out of life whatever their background.
