Peter Lerew, born in 1932, was employed in the Civil Service until he took early retirement some 15 years ago. He then moved to Ryedale, both he and his wife, Jean, regarding it as one of the best moves they have ever made.

Peter joined the Liberal Democrats shortly after coming to Ryedale.

We were soon welcomed into local activities and my current interests include the Ryedale Folk Museum, music, the Wombleton Parish Council, activities of Kirkbymoorside and the District Councils, the Citizens Advice Bureau and local events.

The development of Ryedale's public transport network (so much needs to be done) and environmental matters are major concerns as is the need for affordable housing, recreation areas convenient to all Kirkbymoorside residents and the proposed Church House development having effective local input to meet local needs.
